The Church Foundation, Family, and Future
Church is far more than a building or a Sunday ritual—it's a divine institution established by God for our benefit and the enrichment of society. The Greek word 'ekklesia' means 'called out,' representing those summoned by Jesus from the world to come together. While church buildings are simply tools, the true church consists of people—believers gathered in community.Jesus declared, 'I will build my church,' establishing it on the foundation of faith in Him. This foundation provides stability when believers stand together, like a football team's offensive line moving with synchronized power. The church also functions as a forever family, where we are adopted by a perfect Father and become co-heirs with Christ. This family provides a lasting sense of belonging, though our experience depends largely on our level of involvement. Perhaps most importantly, the church helps us anticipate our glorious future—the rapture, the marriage supper of the Lamb, and eternity in the New Jerusalem where God will dwell with His people. In a world where anxiety and depression are increasingly common, the church provides a firm foundation, a place of belonging, and a certain destination. Like coals that stay hot when together but cool when separated, believers maintain their passion for Christ through community with other believers.
